Now, take 2 gallons of Wanda Jackson, 2 gallons of Etta James, a spoonful Howlin’ Wolf, a shot of Dick Dale, add some Cramps and a pint of Nick Curran, mix that all up, shake it, stir it, and light it on fire. The result you get : Shotgun Sally !!!
They combine the spirit of the 1950’s rock & roll with the attitude of modern musical gun slingers.
Their 2016 self-titled debut album has been well received by the local press and audiences.
Shotgun Sally is female fronted by Katrien, the embodiment of wild performing art, combining stunning vocals with stunning looks, and back boned by Jimmy on drums, who from a very young age toured the world as a R&R dancer and later exchanged that for playing the drums in his father’s big band where the groovy swing seed got planted.
The Shotgun Sally band didn’t stop to evolve and in September 2017 there was a change of guard when - although their relative young age and everlasting good looks you can call them veterans of the roots scene – Rico (guitar) and Sebi (upright bass) joined the band. With the four of them, they have been playing a long series of staggering rock & roll shows, having great fun on all kind of bar, club and festival stages all over Belgium and The Netherlands. In March 2019 they are releasing a new single on vinyl, containing 2 original Shotgun Sally Songs (Never Gonna Break My Heart, Sugar Coated Lovin’) as a prelude to their still to record upcoming full album which will contain mainly original songs. So don’t hesitate to check out one of their shows … ‘cause one thing’s for sure … Shotgun Sally still has some unfinished business to take care of !
